In the early 2000s, Max Kater was a Mum with a problem. The former Fashion and Beauty Editor found the traditional cleaning products she was using at home weren't only uninspiring: they were making her baby’s allergies worse every time she used them. Something had to change. 

She knew there had to be other mothers out there having the same problems, so after working with a natural lab in Australia, she developed her own plant-based housecleaning and personal care products that were natural and effective. And of course, they had to look good and smell amazing!

Since 2008, Murchison-Hume has gone from a kitchen table operation to a multi-national brand sold in 12 countries and growing. We think practicality, beauty and sustainability can happily co-exist (even under the kitchen sink).
